What are some real-world problem that can be solved by changing people's attitudes/ actions?

It appears that the world is filled with individuals lacking respect and tolerance of each other. There may be a solution to this concern if one would only acknowledge that the issue exists. A certain amount of fear, coupled with ignorance, has led some individuals to harbor feelings of superiority, prejudice and racism. Statistics has shown that these concerns are widespread. However subtle it may be, it is reflected in certain regions around the world. Specifically in the western states, such as the golden state of California, one will find much intolerance under the guise of many other faces. Whereas, in the southern states such as Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia, the intolerance is easily recognized.
